Manfred Equiluz had his first music lessons (recorder and piano) at the age of 6; he continued with further education at the Neustiftgasse Music High School in Vienna.

At the same time, at the age of 12 years old, he studies flute at the University of Music and Performing Arts, and at 18 years old, vocal training at the Vienna Conservatory, graduating with honors in song and oratorio, as well as operetta.

During his studies, Manfred Equiluz already made international solo appearances as a singer. For many years, he is also a member of the Bayreuth Festival Choir, additional choir of the Vienna State Opera, ORF and Arnold Schönberg Choir.

Manfred Equiluz was invited to sing Opera with Stadttheater Klagenfurt, Sommerarena Baden, Kurtheater Bad Hall (Zarewitsch), Theater am Kornmarkt (Tamino), Wiener Kammeroper, Neue Oper Wien, Rotterdam, Liege, Wiesbaden, as well as Aachen (e.g. Frantz/Hoffmanns Erzählungen; Beppo/Bajazzo; Peter Iwanow/Zar und Zimmermann; Victorin/Tote Stadt) and Volksoper Wien (including Don Curzio/Figaro, Flaut/Thisbe, Sommernachtstraum/Britten, Zorn/Meistersinger), as well as Staatsoperette Dresden (Hexe in Hänsel und Gretel)…

In addition to classical songs, masses and oratorios – St John and St Matthew Passion/Bach (Mexico) – Manfred Equiluz wide-ranging concert repertoire includes Stabat Mater/Dvorak, Missa da Gloria / Puccini (Kosice), Te Deum/Bruckner, Lied von der Erde/Mahler (Romania, Portugal), as well as contemporary arias and songs.

Manfred Equiluz teaches singing at the Joseph Haydn Conservatory in Eisenstadt and the University of Music in Graz (until 1992.)

Since 1990, Manfred Equiluz is also a professor at Vienna MUK Private University of the City in Austria.
