Irénée Groz is a chamber music professor at the Regional Conservatory of Douai (Nord).
He trained as an oboist at the Haute École des Arts du Rhin, the Musikhochschule Stuttgart, and the Musikhochschule Saarbrücken, notably studying with Christian Schmitt and Sébastien Giot. He currently holds a master’s degree in pedagogy, a master’s degree in performance, as well as an engineering diploma from Grenoble-INP in Physics and Computer Science.
Since 2019, he has performed as an orchestral musician and soloist in France and abroad, as well as in various chamber music ensembles: Luxembourg Chamber Orchestra, Opera National du Rhin, Douai Orchestra, National Orchestra of Metz, Opéra éclaté, Paris Firefighters’ Orchestra, Embarquement Immédiat Festival, Academia della Chigiana Festival (Italy)…
Passionate about early music, Irénée has been dedicating himself since 2020 to playing historical instruments in Strasbourg with Renata Duarte, then at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Antoine Torunczyk.
