After winning first prizes in singing under Jules Bastin and Pierre Fleta, mezzo-soprano Christine Solhosse continued her training with leading figures in the world of opera, such as Jane Berbié of the Paris Opera, Noëlle Barker, and Rita Gorr. Winner of the International Singing Competition in Paris, she confirmed the excellence of her training at a very early stage.

A harpist, trained in choir and orchestra conducting, her passion for singing led her to choose a career as an opera singer.

She made a remarkable debut at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie, where she performed numerous roles in works such as L’Enfant et les Sortilèges,, Louise, Les Diables de Loudun, L’Italiana in Algeri alongside Ewa Podlès , La Cenerentola, Adriana Lecouvreur conducted by Marcello Viotti,
Der Rosenkavalier, La Traviata, Dantons Tod, Manon and many others.

With her keen sense of the stage and cheerful disposition, she also excels in the operetta repertoire, brilliantly embodying the great roles of the genre: La Belle Hélène, La Grande-Duchesse de Gérolstein, La Périchole, Métella in La Vie Parisienne, Orlofsky in Die Fledermausand Mademoiselle Lange in La Fille de Madame Angot.

At the same time, she has performed in concerts throughout Europe, tackling major oratorios and sacred works with equal ease: Johannes-Passion and Matthäus-Passion from Bach, Mozart’s Requiem and Von Suppé’s Requiem,
Haydn’s Theresienmesse and Nelson Messe , Vivaldi’s Gloria, Saint-Saëns’ Christmas Oratorio, Mendelssohn’s The Seven Last Words of Christ on the Cross,and Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Oratorio, among others.

Her career has taken her to numerous international stages, where she has successfully performed major works such as Così fan tutte,, Les Contes d’Hoffmann,, Madama Butterfly,, L’Heure Espagnole,, Rigoletto, Arabella, Dialogues des Carmélites,and L’Homme de la Mancha alongside José Van Dam.

She has performed in Der Ring des Nibelungen alongside Jean-Philippe Lafont and James Morris, Falstaff at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Faust in The Hague,Thaïs, Carmen in Toulon, Mefistofele, Jenůfa, Peter Grimes at the Monte Carlo Opera, and more.

She collaborates with renowned directors – Martha Domingo, Nicolas Joël, Philippe Sireuil, Jacques Karpo, Friedrich Meyer-Oertel – and shares the stage with prestigious artists such as Fiorenza Cossotto, Editha Gruberova, Ewa Podleś, Annick Massis, José Cura, Florian Laconi, Alain Fondary, under the direction of conductors such as Paul Ethuin, Alain Guingal, Laurent Campellone, and Alberto Zedda.

Since 2010, Christine Solhosse has been putting her experience at the service of the younger generation as a singing teacher and head of the singing department at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, where she passionately and rigorously teaches the art of singing and stage performance.
