René-Gilles Rousselot begins the trumpet with his trumpet father, who also directed the Harmony of Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines in Alsace.

He continued in various conservatories where he successively obtained several 1st prize: at the Colmar Conservatory, Villeurbanne, Aubervilliers-La-Courneuve.

He perfected his skills at the Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg in Anthony Plog’s class, where he obtained a trumpet master’s degree.

Since 1999, René-Gilles Rousselot has been principal trumpet of the National Orchestra Capitole in Toulouse.  In 2009 he played Arutunian’s concerto at the Halle aux Grains in Toulouse under the direction of Tugan Sokhiev.

He is also regularly asked to give recitals and performs with major orchestras: the “Orchestre National de France”, the Orchestra of Paris Opera – France, the Bordeaux Orchestra, Monaco, Lyon, Zürich…

René-Gilles Rousselot is a professor at the Regional Conservatory – CRR in Toulouse and also at the Toulouse Music Superior Conservatory – ISDAT.
