Noémi Boutin is a complete and unique artist who has developed a virtuoso and sensitive style with her cello. The paths she has taken, guided by her curiosity and encounters, have shaped a multifaceted career in which authenticity and uncompromising standards form the foundation of her success.

A young prodigy, Noémi Boutin entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris at the age of 14. Winner of numerous competitions in France and abroad (ADAMI’s ‘Révélation classique’, Natexis Foundation winner, etc.), she has performed as a soloist with various ensembles (Munich Radio Orchestra, Orchestre des Pays de Savoie, Orchestre de Chambre de Toulouse, Orchestre de Chambre d’Auvergne, etc.). She has also been invited to perform at major venues and festivals (Philharmonie de Paris, Musée d’Orsay, Salle Cortot, MC2: Grenoble, Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord, La Roque d’Anthéron, L’Orangerie de Sceaux, Les Serres d’Auteuil, Les Flâneries Musicales de Reims, the Berlioz Festival, the Radio France Occitanie Montpellier Festival, the Biennale Musiques en Scène, etc.) as well as in Japan, China, Spain, Italy, Norway, etc.

Alongside her solo activities, Noémi Boutin has revealed a true vocation as a chamber musician, first with the Trio Boutin, then with the Trio Cérès (ARD Prize, Munich, 2007). She continues this work today, notably alongside the Quatuor Béla, with whom she is a regular guest.

Throughout her extraordinary career, Noémi Boutin has received advice and support from renowned musical figures such as Roland Pidoux, Jean-Guihen Queyras, Jean-Claude Pennetier, Ralph Kirshbaum, Seiji Osawa, Sadao Harada, Philippe Muller, David Geringas and Jeroen Reuling.

An artist of her time, Noémi is recognised for her commitment to contemporary music. A champion of creative works that are as colourful as they are demanding, the young soloist designs bold programmes that combine new works with pieces from the repertoire. In this context, she works closely with composers from a variety of musical backgrounds: Marc Ducret, François Sarhan, Magik Malik, Joëlle Léandre, Frédéric Pattar, Michael Jarrell, Frédéric Aurier, Jean-François Vrod, Daniel D’Adamo, Laura Bowler, Misato Mochizuki, Antoine Arnera and Jacques Rebotier…

Finally, passionate about new and unexpected artistic adventures, Noémi Boutin shares the stage with the greatest circus performers, actors and jazz musicians, such as Mathurin Bolze, Jörg Müller, Sylvaine Hélary, Marc Ducret and Pierre Meunier,…

In 2017, Noémi Boutin released her first solo album. Recorded with the NoMadMusic label at the Arsenal in Metz, it is devoted to Benjamin Britten’s three cello suites. In 2019, she released a recording of the Schubert/D’Adamo programme with the Béla Quartet on the same label. A new solo album, dedicated to the contemporary composers who have accompanied her career over the last ten years, will be released in May 2025 on the L’empreinte digitale label.

From 2021, she will be working with four musician friends on a new creation for public spaces, OUT, which premiered in September 2024 in Grenoble.
