Passionate about voices and early music, young conductor and baritone Noé Chapolard loves to explore all kinds of repertoires, with a focus on polyphonic works of all styles.

Born in Paris in 1992, Noé first studied international relations at Princeton University in the United States (B.A. – 2014), before launching into musical studies at CNSMD de Lyon for conducting (Bachelor’s and Master’s in choral conducting with Nicole Corti and Lionel Sow – 2022) and at Schola Cantorum Basiliensis for singing (Master of Advanced Studies in vocal ensemble singing with Lisandro Abadie, Paul Agnew, Björn Schmelzer and Stratton Bull – 2023).

In 2022, Noé took up the post of conductor of the Jeune Choeur d’Auvergne (Surprises – Choeur Régional d’Auvergne; Verdi, La Traviata – Clermont-Auvergne Opéra; Beethoven, 9th Symphony- Spirito/ONL; Trost) and assistant of the Chœur Régional d’Auvergne (Bach, Johannes-Passion; Brahms, Ein Deutsches Requiem). This previous season, Noé was principal conductor of the Académie de Musique Sacrée de Lyon symphony chorus, of the Nadia et Lili Boulanger Conservatory student orchestra in Paris, and of Vocappella chamber choir.

This season, Noé has regularly sung with La Capella Nacional de Catalunya (Jordi Savall), Graindelavoix (Björn Schmelzer), La Chapelle Rhénane (Benoît Haller), Spirito (Nicole Corti). As a soloist, he sang among other works : Bach’s Mass in B minor, Johannes-Passion and various cantatas, Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem, Haendel’s Messiah, Verdi’s Requiem.

This upcoming season, you can hear him solo in Gilles Raynal’s Requiem “François Villon,” Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem, Monteverdi’s Vespers, and more. He will conduct two new programmes : Impact! (contemporary a cappella works) and Monteverdi – Oeuvres Sacrées with the Jeune Choeur d’Auvergne.

Noé has been an academist of ensembles Spirito and Aedes (Cité de la Voix), of the Orchestre de Paris Choir and Capella Reial de Catalunya, and is a laureate of Fondation Royaumont.
