Greek-American violinist Ariadne Daskalakis, a unique performer and pedagogue of both modern and baroque violin, concertizes with renowned ensembles in major venues around the world. In the dual role of leader and soloist she also works extensively with chamber orchestras and period instrument ensembles. Recent highlights include performances with the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn as soloist and leader, performances of the complete works for violin solo by J.S. Bach and appearances at festivals in New York, Portland and Montepulciano. In 2025 she also served on the Jury of the Tibor Varga Int’l Violin Competition.

A laureate of the Int’l Competition of the ARD Munich, she studied at the Juilliard School, Harvard University and the Hochschule der Künste Berlin. Her mentors included Eric Rosenblith, Eugene Lehner, Szymon Goldberg and Ilan Gronich. She is Professor at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln since 2000. As Artistic Director of the “Palazzo Ricci” Academy Montepulciano she has developed and curates a multi-disciplinary 7-month season. She also leads the chamber music festival “Music from Land’s End Wareham” (USA), which she founded in 2012. Ariadne has contributed to “The Strad” magazine’s columns “Teaching and Playing: Technique” and “5 Practice Tips”, and is collaborating on the new “Wiener Urtext Edition” of the Beethoven Violin Sonatas.
