Atahualpa FERLY began learning guitar at the age of 8 with his father in Guadeloupe. From 16 to 20 years, he improved at the “Carrefour Mondial de la Guitare”, the international festival directed by the famous Cuban composer Léo BROUWER. He follows the teaching of David RUSSEL, Roland DYENS, Léo BROUWER.

At the age of 20, he went on to pursue his postgraduate studies of music in Paris. He obtained three years later in 1998 his 1st Guitar Prize unanimously at the National Music Conservatory of Aulnay-Sous-Bois in the class of Raymond GRATIEN.
Admitted to the CNSMD in Paris, he is a pupil of Olivier CHASSAIN, Alberto PONCE and then Roland DYENS and in 2002 he obtained the diploma of higher education, mention very well.
He has since been laureate of several competitions such as the Inter-Caribbean Competition of Martinique or the National Competition of Montdidier.

Atahualpa performs in France and internationally, in solo or chamber orchestra. He played with baritone Jacques-Greg BELOBO (tours in the Middle East, Africa, Europe …) or in trio with Raymond GRATIEN and Judicaël PERROY.
Since 2006, he is a professor (PEA) at the Maurice Ravel Conservatory of Paris – XIII.
