His piano-teachers were J\u00fcrgen Uhde, Roland Keller, Franti\u0161ek Rauch and Valentina Kamenikova. Masterclasses with Aloys Kontarsky and Ditta P\u00e1sztory-Bart\u00f3k.   <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He worked regularly with composers such as Gy\u00f6rgy Ligeti, George Crumb, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Peter E\u00f6tv\u00f6s and many composers of the younger Generation. International concert appearances on wellknown music-festivals as soloist, piano-duet-player, with singers and as a chambermusic partner in Europe, North-America, Ukraine, Mexico, Brasil, Ghana, Russia, South-Corea and Japan. As member of the \u201cStuttgarter Klavier-Duo\u201d, which became well-known through performings of \u201cVisions de l\u00b4Amen\u201d by Olivier Messiaen and other important compositions for two pianos. As founder of the ensemble \u201cpiano &amp; percussion\u201d \u2013 a special ensemble for two pianos and percussion &#8211; and as member of several other ensembles for contemporary music he has performed numerous premieres. A row of new compositions are written for him and his ensembles. His wide repertory ranges from Barock until todays time. He played concerts at Ligeti-Festival Amsterdam, \u201cEurocentric\u201d Toronto, Biennale Munich, Musica Stra\u00dfbourg, Schwetzinger Festspiele and many other international festivals of music.      <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He regular plays and records in the SWR Radio-Sinfonie-Orchester and SWR-Vocal-Ensemble Stuttgart. 2003 he was invited by the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra as a soloist in \u201cAtlantis\u201d by Peter E\u00f6tv\u00f6s. Radio- and CD-recording activities in Germany and abroad. He has given lecture-recitals, workshops and masterclasses at Universities of Music in Germany, Austria, Italy, Norway, USA, Canada, Ukraine, Russia (Gnessin-Academy Moscow), Ghana, Japan and Brasil.    <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Currently he is professor for piano solo and chamber music at the University of Music in Karlsruhe\/Germany. Beside his career as a pianist he worked more than 30 years as a piano-teacher with children and successfully supported young people to become professional musicians in the music-school in Ostfildern near Stuttgart. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2008 he was creator and artistic director of the \u201cInternationale Messiaen Woche 2008\u201d in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse as well as the festival \u201cMessiaen 100\u201d at University of Music Karlsruhe in Germany in the same year. Both festivals were dedicated to the 100th birthday of Olivier Messiaen. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In same year he performed the world-premier of Adriana H\u00f6lszky\u00b4s \u201cCountdown\u201d at the Musica-Viva-Festival in Munich and was invited to perform at the Heinrich-Neuhaus-Festival in Moskau.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2015 appeared at the label NEOS in 2015 his recording of \u201cMakrokosomos I and II \u201c by George Crumb. 2023 He performed together with Magdalena Cerezo Stockhausen\u00b4s \u201cMantra\u201d in a double performance with Yue Zou and Daria Vorontsova- two students of his class at the University of Music in Karlsruhe, followed by several performings of Beethoven\u00b4s \u201cDiabelli-Variations\u201d in 2024\/25. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Karlsruhe beside teaching he collaborated over 10 years as an organizer of numerous interdisciplinary musical events for the students of the University of Music in the State Art Hall Karlsruhe together with the splendid young pianist and music &#8211; and art &#8211; scientist Prof. Dr. Anna Zassimova. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]<\/p>\n<span class=\"et_bloom_bottom_trigger\"><\/span>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Markus Stange was born 1955 in Ludwigshafen, Germany &#8211; studied piano, composition and conducting in Stuttgart and L\u00fcbeck, and, as a recipient of a \u201cGerman Foundation for Higher Education\u201d stipend, studied piano at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague.
