On the advice of Alfred Brendel, he continued his studies with Gerhard Oppitz in Munich and Hans Leygraf at the Mozarteum in Salzburg.<\/p>\n<p> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">His first recording was dedicated to Leo\u0161 Jan\u00e1\u010dek, whose complete works for piano and chamber music with piano. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He went on to record numerous CDs featuring works by Haydn, Brahms, Schubert, Bart\u00f3k, Debussy and his own compositions. His recordings and numerous radio recordings have been very well received by audiences and the press. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>Critics unanimously described him as a \u2018magician of sound\u2019, a \u2018poet of the piano with perfect technique\u2019 and a \u2018pianist with a sense of sound, charm and wit\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gilead Mishory has also made a name for himself as a composer with the cycle \u2018Lider-Togbuch\u2019, created in 1998 and inspired by the poems of Sutzkever. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">His affinity for literature as a source of inspiration is also evident in the \u2018Hebrew Ballads\u2019 based on Else Lasker-Sch\u00fcler, in \u201cFluchtst\u00fccke\u201d based on Anne Michaels&#8217; novel, in the string quartet \u2018Psalm\u2019 based on Paul Celan, and in \u2018Di wajte hajmat majne\u2019 for tenor and orchestra, based on poems by Marc Chagall. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He completed his opera, \u2018Isaaks Jugend\u2019, in 2010. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2011, a first CD with his works was released by NEOS, followed in 2016 by the CD \u2018An Aeneas\u2019. Some of his works have been published by Peermusic Classical.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Children in many countries have played piano pieces from his albums for young people: Mein Opa und ich, Meine Oma und ich and Mein verr\u00fcckter Klavierlehrer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2000, after teaching for two years at the University of Detmold-Dortmund, Gilead Mishory was appointed to the Musikhochschule in Freiburg, where he currently teaches an excellent class.
