<\/a>Franziska Badertscher is involved in classical flute repertoire as well as contemporary and experimental music. She is active in free improvisation and realises interdisciplinary projects. Franziska Badertscher is not interested in categories or genres, so almost every one of her studio concerts has found its own category. <\/span><\/p>\nThe focus of her work is chamber music. She plays in various permanent ensembles: in a wind quintet, in a duo with a soprano and with her improvisation partners. She regularly performs with pianists Anne de Dadelsen and Giovanni Fornasini, flutist Caterina N\u00fcesch-Corvini and in other changing ensembles. <\/span><\/p>\n She is committed to Swiss music-making and new music: world premieres of chamber music by composers David Wohnlich, Robert Suter, Ren\u00e9 Gerber, Meinrad Sch\u00fctter and John Frith. Many of these compositions were dedicated to Franziska Badertscher. A recording of Ren\u00e9 Gerber’s flute works is available from Gallo, CD 778. A CD featuring Swiss flute music is available from the Gallo label, CD 1424. <\/span><\/p>\n Her name also appears on chanson and cabaret programmes, and her face can be spotted at the Basel Fasnacht carnival under a mask as she parades through the streets to marches composed especially for her. Flute, improvisation, cabaret, carnival, chansons \u2013 labels that presuppose boundaries.
