\"\"<\/a>Pianist Alexander Sonderegger has performed with orchestras including the Stuttgarter Philharmoniker, the Sinfonietta Lentua Orchestra in Kuhmo, Finland, the Murmansk Philharmonic, Russia, and the Orquesta Sinf\u00f3nica de la Regi\u00f3n de Murcia, Spain. At the Liederhalle Beethoven Hall in Stuttgart he has appeared with piano concertos by Beethoven, Grieg, Tchaikovsky, and Brahms. His previous performances include the Musikverein in Vienna, the Mozarteum in Salzburg and Carnegie Hall in New York. <\/span><\/p>\n

Alexander Sonderegger has garnered prizes at many international piano competitions, including first prize and “The Czech Radio Prize” at the Carl Czerny International Piano Competition in Prague, second prize at the ClaMo Competition in Murcia, and the first prize at the 16th International Piano Competition in Rome. In 2019, Alexander won the first prize at the 21st International Piano Competition of Ile de France and the IKIF Artist Recognition Scholarship Award at the International Keyboard Institut & Festival in New York. <\/span><\/p>\n

Born in 1991 in Petrozavodsk, Russia, to a family of musicians, Alexander Sonderegger started his piano education at the Petrozavodsk State Glazunov Conservatory under the guidance of professor Viktor Portnoi. In 2008, he attended the State University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart where he was taught by such professors as Kirill Gerstein, Shoshana Rudiakov, P\u00e9ter Nagy and Florian Wiek. Alexander graduated from Stuttgart in 2017, passing his solo performance exam with distinction. He received further impulses from musicians such as Milana Chernyavska, Elena Margolina-Hait, and Jerome Rose. <\/span><\/p>\n

Together with his brother Eduard Sonderegger (violin), he has been performing for over 20 years as the Sonderegger Duo and has appeared at numerous events and concert venues, such as the “Rising Stars!” Festival in Stuttgart, the Gasteig in Munich, and the Konzerthaus in Berlin. In 2019, the Sonderegger Duo recorded a CD with works by Brahms, Szymanowski, and Enesco. <\/span><\/p>\n

Since 2021, Alexander Sonderegger has served as a senior piano lecturer at the State University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart. In 2024, he released the solo CD “Five Sides of Fantasy” on the RCD label, featuring piano works by Bach, Busoni, Chopin, Scriabin, and Balakirev. <\/span><\/p>\n
