Guadagnini violin and a CD recording contract with Naxos. She was honored as a Laureate for both the 2012 Queen Elisabeth International Competition in Belgium and the 2014 Indianapolis Violin Competition in the United States, earning the \u2018Best Performance of a Classical Concerto\u2019 and \u2018Best Performance of a Beethoven Sonata\u2019 prizes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She received the 2nd prize (no 1st prize awarded) during the 2010 53rd Premio Paganini Competition in Italy, where she was also given the \u2018Barbieri Special prize\u2019 for the best interpretation of Paganini Capricci, and the \u2018Ruminelli Special prize\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dami Kim won the first prize in the 2011 3rd Munetsugu Angel Violin International Competition in Japan, where she had the opportunity to play the Stradivarious \u201cRainville\u201d violin for 2 years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The musician also received other additional prizes in various competitions worldwide, including the 2010 Sendai International Competition in Japan, the 2009 Michael Hill Violin International Competition in New Zealand, second prize in the 2006 Johansen International Competition in the United States, as well as the 2004 Greenfield Philadelphia Orchestra Competition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From country to country, Dami Kim forged herself a career as a soloist with her recitals. Her Debut Recital in the 2015 Swiss Lucerne Festival, and her performance with the NDR Philharmonie in Hannover, Germany with Maestro Manze were both memorable.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The musician furthermore showcased her soloist talents alongside renowned orchestras including the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Macau Orchestra, Orchestra Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, the National Orchestra of Belgium, the Munich Chamber Orchestra, the Seoul Phil Orchestra, the KBS Orchestra, the Wuhan Phil Orchestra, the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, the Thailand Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and various other prestigious orchestras.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to her solo violinist career, the artist frequently takes part in several chamber music festivals. She has participated in festivals such as Ravinia, Yellow Barn, and Taos, and worked with several renowned artists, including Frans Helmerson, Gidon Kremer, Steven Isserlis, and Christian Tetzlaff. And most recently, she made her soloist debut with Kremerata Baltica at the Kronberg Music Festival.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> In 2018, Dami Kim released her debut album under the SONY Classical label on Dvorak violin pieces, including the concerto, with Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra. A few years later, in 2022, she released another piece under the same label, with her album.&lt;Timepass&gt;. Both albums ranked amongst the Best Selling Classical Album section in Korea.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The artist had begun learning the violin at age five in Korea and had entered the Curtis Institute of Music in the United States with a full scholarship in 2002. She graduated and obtained her Artist\u2019s Diploma in 2007, studying with violinist Aaron Rosand.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From 2010 to 2013, she was in the New England Conservatory, studying with renowned violinist Miriam Fried, and graduated with a bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degree. In 2009, she won the Concerto Competition and performed with the NEC Symphony Orchestra.
