She is also a much appreciated international masterclass teacher, often specializing in historical performance and her own imaginative-based method for developing violin technique. She also participates as a juror at International Competitions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mo Yi has made numerous recordings from baroque to contemporary music and has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician on European TV and radio stations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mo Yi\u2019s appearance in the film \u201cHeilige Spiele\u201d about Johann Sebastian Bach received rave reviews.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mo Yi was born in Wuhan, China, and had her first violin lesson as a-five-year-old with Professor Teng Maolung. She finished her studies in China as a student with Professor Lin Yaoji at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During her studies, she received many awards including a scholarship from The German Academy Exchange Grant (Deutsche Akademische Austausch Dienst, DAAD).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She continued her studies with among others Professor Nora Chastain (University of Arts Berlin), Professor Gottfried von der Goltz (Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik W\u00fcrzburg), Professor Fran\u00e7ois Fernandez (Paris National Superior Conservatory &#8211; CNSMD).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mo Yi is winner of numerous Prizes including:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">First Prize and the Audience Prize at the Grossen F\u00f6rderpreis Wettbewerb der Konzertgesellschaft M\u00fcnchen (Munich)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Grand Prix at the Early Music Meeting at the Berlin Museum of Musical Instruments<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The International Music Competition Maria Canals of Barcelona<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The International Telemann Competition, Magdeburg<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Joseph Haydn International Chamber Music Competition, Vienna<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]<\/p>\n<span class=\"et_bloom_bottom_trigger\"><\/span>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mo Yi Mo Yi Later she also began teaching in the Musikhochschule L\u00fcbeck where a number of students with an interest in playing baroque violin also found their way to her class.
