\"\"<\/span>Pascal Jemain studied at Lyon CNSMD – National superior Conservatory in Yvan Chiffoleau class, and obtained a first prize with very good honors, and then improved with Gary Hoffman and Janos Starker. <\/span><\/p>\n

His orchestral practice led him to join the European Union Youth Orchestra of which he was a member for two years, playing under the direction of Bernard Haitink, Mstislav Rostropovich, Vladimir Ashkenazy or even Carlo-Maria Giulini. He then joined the National Orchestra of Pays de la Loire, and at the same time continued his training as a quartetist as part of the Pro Quartet development cycle within the Alkan Quartet, benefiting in particular from a residency at the Britten Piers School with members of the Amadeus Quartet. <\/span><\/p>\n

Pascal Jemain has been a member of the Arta Balarta Quartet for several years, with which he explores the vast repertoire for quartet as well as the world of tango.<\/span><\/p>\n

Trained as a pedagogue at the CNSMD in Lyon, he holds a Master’s degree in pedagogy and the Certificat d’Aptitude for cello teaching. He has been a teacher in the CNSMD’s pedagogy department for the past ten years. He has developed a teaching approach based on individual reflection on the meaning of artistic practice, the notion of personal development, openness to different aesthetics (jazz, tango, contemporary music), methodology, group practice and collaborative and reflective work. <\/span><\/p>\n

After working as assistant professor to Yvan Chiffoleau and then Emmanuelle Bertrand at the CNSMD in Lyon, he now teaches at the same institution with Eric-Maria Couturier. He trains students for the DNSPM and Master’s degrees in performance, and also prepares them for orchestral competitions. <\/span><\/p>\n

He has been teaching at the CRR – Conservatoire \u00e0 Rayonnement R\u00e9gional de Saint \u00c9tienne for around twenty years, and also trains students for entrance examinations to higher education establishments. <\/span><\/p>\n
