Solo flute with Les Si\u00e8cles since 2003, and with the Dresdner Festspielorchester from 2014 to 2018, he is regularly invited as solo flute by the Orchestre National de France, the Orchestre des Champs Elys\u00e9es and the Balthasar Neumann Ensemble, the Orchestre de Chambre Nouvelle Aquitaine, the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, the Internationale Bachakademie Stuttgart &#8211; Gaeschinger Cantorey, the Orchestre de l&#8217;Op\u00e9ra de Lyon, the Orchestre Symphonique de Bretagne, the Orchestre National Bordeaux &#8211; Aquitaine, the Orchestre National d&#8217;Auvergne and has collaborated with the Orchestre de l&#8217;Op\u00e9ra de Paris, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg, the Ensemble Instrumental et Vocal de Lausanne and La Chambre Philharmonique under Neeme J\u00e4rvi, Peter E\u00f6tv\u00f6s, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Emmanuel Krivine, Armin Jordan, George Benjamin, Michel Corboz, Ivan Fischer, Philippe Herreweghe, Ton Koopman, Reinhard Goebel, Arie van Beek, Jean Fran\u00e7ois Hesser, Hans-Christophe Rademann, Thomas Helgelbrock. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chamber music occupies a special place in his work, and he shares the stage with artists such as pianists Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Vaysse-Knitter, Fran\u00e7ois Dumont, Alexandre L\u00e9ger, Eric Le Sage, Franck Braley, Samuele Sgambaro, harpsichordists Kenneth Weiss, Elisabetta Guglielmin, Emmanuel Rousson, organists Daniel Roth, Ghislain Leroy, Damien Simon, Pierre-Yves Fleury, and harpists Val\u00e9ria Kafelnikof, Aur\u00e9lie Saraf, Catherine Michel, guitarist Caroline Delume, cellists Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric and Florent Audibert, H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Dautry, Peter Szabo, violinists Catherine Jacquet, Marie Charvet, Oswald Sallaberger, Jan Orawiec, percussionist Claudio Bettinelli, the B\u00e9la, Cambini, Van Kuijk and Voce quartets, the L&#8217;Instant Donn\u00e9 ensemble, the Ensemble Calliop\u00e9e and the Si\u00e8cles soloists.<br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He performs in prestigious halls and theatres throughout the world: Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Carnegie Hall in New York, Berlin Philharmonie, Victor Albert Hall in London (BBC Proms), Philharmonie de Paris, Th\u00e9\u00e2tre des Champs &#8211; Elys\u00e9es, Th\u00e9\u00e2tre du Ch\u00e2telet, Salle Pleyel, Seattle Benaroya Hall, Victoria Hall in Geneva, Tonhalle Z\u00fcrick, Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, Scuola Grande di San Rocco in Venice, Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, Semper Oper in Dresden, Prinzregententheater in Munich, Philharmonie in Cologne, Philharmonie in Essen, W\u00fcrzburger Residenz, Kursaal in San Sebastien, Glocke &#8211; Bremen Konzerthaus, Seattle Benaroya Hall, Zellerbach Hall in Berkeley, Royce Hall in Los Angeles, Tokyo International Forum.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a soloist, he has performed numerous concertos, including Mozart&#8217;s concertos, Telemann&#8217;s Overture Suite and Conclusion, Devienne&#8217;s concertos, Rodrigo&#8217;s Concierto Pastoral, J. S. Bach&#8217;s Suite in B minor and 5th Brandenburg Concerto, Couperin&#8217;s Concerts Royaux, and L. Bernstein&#8217;s Halil. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He has made numerous internationally acclaimed recordings, notably with Les Si\u00e8cles, as well as the Presto! television series for France 2, available on DVD. Several recordings and live radio broadcasts for France Musique, with the Orchestre National de France and in chamber music. His album dedicated to Claude Debussy as a flute and piano duo, for the KLARTHE label, has been hailed by the critics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gionata Sgambaro teaches at the \u00c9cole Sup\u00e9rieure de Musique Bourgogne-Franche-Comt\u00e9, the CRR de Boulogne-Billancourt and the CRD d&#8217;Aulnay-sous-Bois. He was Director of Studies at the ESM Bourgogne-Franche-Comt\u00e9, after teaching flute and chamber music at the Pont Sup\u00e9rieur &#8211; P\u00f4le d&#8217;Enseignement Sup\u00e9rieur Bretagne &#8211; Pays de la Loire and the CRR de Rennes. He is a member of juries at the Paris and Lyon Conservatoires.
