He has performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras, including the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, the Munich Symphony Orchestra, Concertino Hamburg, the Munich Baroque Ensemble, the Augsburg Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reto Kuppel studied with Andreas R\u00f6hn at the Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik und Theater in Hamburg and with Dorothy Delay at the Juilliard School in New York. He studied chamber music with Ralph Gothoni, Herman Krebbers, and Felix Galimir.<\/p>\n<p>After appearing in gala concerts for the Franz-Wirth and Masefield Foundations in Hamburg and winning the International Violin Competition at Ch\u00e2teau de Courcillon, Reto Kuppel has been invited to perform at numerous festivals such as the Tonk\u00fcnstlerfest Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg, the Schleswig Holstein Music Festival, the Richard Strauss Festival, the Musicalta Music Festival, the Kissinger Sommer, the Summit Music Festival, and the Rheingau Musikfestival. <\/p>\n<p>For nearly twenty years, Reto Kuppel was principal violinist with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. With this ensemble, he has performed in major concert halls around the world. Reto Kuppel is currently professor of violin at the Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik N\u00fcrnberg in Germany.<\/p>\n<p>Reto Kuppel performs regularly in string quartets and chamber music ensembles and has released CDs featuring virtuoso violin works from the 19th century. His recordings of works by Ludwig van Beethoven (with Amy Lin, piano), Franz Schubert, Paul and Pauline Viardot (with Wolfgang Manz, piano), Friedrich Hermann, Ferdinand David, and Henri Vieuxtemps have been acclaimed by critics and audiences alike: \u201cFrom the outset, it must be acknowledged that Reto Kuppel&#8217;s playing is absolutely sensational&#8230; Everything is played with taste and refinement.
