Luigi Puddu
Born in Cagliari, Luigi Puddu studied music at Alessandria Conservatory. At the age of 19, he became winner of the prestigious International Competition « Certamen Internacional de Guitarra Francisco Tarrega » at Benicasim in Spain. In 1992, on the request of the South american guitarist Maria Luisa Anido, he becomes the only Italian player invited at the International festival in Chili where he performs and gives master classes and lectures for the students of Santiago and Valparaiso Universities. In 1993, Luigi Puddu is invited to perform in Chili, Argentina and Brasil in International Festivals honouring Maria Luisa Anido. In 1994, he is the guest of International festivals in Lima (Pérou), Vina del Mar (Chili) and San Juan (Argentina). Luigi Puddu is regularly invited to perform as a soloist in the most famous international festivals in Europe and south América. Luigi Puddu also plays chamber music with success ; he is invited to perform in France and abroad with such musician as Vadim Brodsky, Stefano Maffizzoni, Francis Duroy, Cristiano Rossi, Anna Tifu… He performs in guitar duo with his brother Giovanni Puddu. In 1993, december 10th, at Sienna Chigiana Academy, the Puddu Guitar Duo created (first world execution) the oeuvre « Algo N.2 » composed by the famous composer Franco Donatoni. He is passionate by teaching ; he is regularly invited in Europe and South America to give master classes. He is also the president of the jury member of the 6th « Città di Pavia » International chamber Music competition and member of commission of few International competitions ; « Viotti-Valsesia » for violin and orchestra and « A.M.A. Calabria » for contemporary music and chamber music and he is regularly invited as a jury member of numerous International Guitar competition. Luigi Puddu is the director of the Civica Scuola di Musica Conservatory in Cagliari. |
