Dimitri Naïditch

Dimitri Naïditch was born in 1963, his father was a science academician and his mother Nina was known as one of the best ex USSR piano teacher for young students aged from 3 to 18.

As a child, he already played concerts in his native town, Kiev. At the age of 17, after having finished his studies in Kiev Special Music School for Gifted Children, he passed the pretigious diploma of Pianist Interpreter.

In 1988-89, he won Vilnius (Lithuania) National piano competition and Kalis (Poland) International piano competition. Then, in 1990, Dimitri Naïditch brilliantly crowned his studies in the Tchaïkovski Conservatory with 4 first prizes : Interpretation, Chamber music, teaching and accompaniment.

At the same time he has a passion for Jazz music and attented the main Jazz festivals in Eastern Europe, Switzerland, Italy... There he played personal compositions which consisted in a romantic and dazzling rereading of contemporary jazz, native folklore and classical music.

Dimitri Naïditch has been living in France since 1991. From 1994 to 1998, he was Professor of improvisation classes in Lyon CNSMD - Superior National Music Conservatory. Then, in the Lyon jazz cultural world, he is described as the "Révélation of 1994-95 years".

In 1996, he registered a solo CD and in 1999, he created a classical and Jazz music festival the "Mélomanies d'Annonay", become the artistic director of this event and decided that its programmation would be open-minded and decompartmentalized.

Within this festival, he creates numerous innovative projects, particularly for philharmonic orchestras and piano, in which he develops his idea of a coexistence between writing and improvisation. He also tries most surprising stage effects!

Dimitri Naïditch also develops a teaching activity around this festival for people to discover and understand better classical and Jazz music.

In 2002, his composition "Sympholies", vast nearly-surrealist fresco for piano and orchestra is created with Kiev Philharmony also including in the first part his version of Rachmaninov 3rd concerto for piano.

These last few years, Dimitri Naïditch has been continuing to play classical and Jazz music concerts in France and abroad.

He plays as a soloist alone or with symphonic orchestras, with the ARFI (Marmitte Infernale), duos with Didier Lockwood, Gilles Apap, Caroline Casadessus, Vladimir Chavel, and also with Ricchard Galliano (Piazzola Forever, quartet), Pierre Amoyal and Buffo - Howard Buten.

Dimitri Naîditch registered a new album - piano solo - "Cossia", dedicated to Jazz, in October 2005.

In 2005, he also shared the stage with Caroline Cadessus and Didier Lockwood in the show "Le Jazz et la Diva", during one month in Pépinière Opera, and during three months in the Gaîté-Montparnasse Theater... and then on-tour... which represented about 200 shows!

In 2006, he was nominated for the french music "Victoires" and received the "Molière" for Best musical Show.

In 2007 he created the show "Davnina" in which he staged most archaic Ukrainian songs.

Dimitri Naïditch makes composition and arrangement work to which he brings touches from various Jazz styles and from all music taken together.
