 Philippe Lindecker

Philippe LINDECKER was born in 1963 in Mulhouse (France). He starts studying music in the same city and has the violin and chamber music First Prizes in 1972. He then pursues his studies at the Conservatoire of Saint-Maur-Des-Fossés and has in 1980 the same distinctions.

He incorporates the « Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris » in 1981 in G. Poulet's, P. Nérini's and B. Pasquier's classes. In 1985, his studies are crown with his violin and chamber music Frist Prizes.

Then, he incorporates as a postgraduate J.C Bèrnede's chamber music class with the Quartet A. Roussel and is a finalist in the International Competition of Evian String Quartet in 1986.

It is in 1987 when he starts his professional life as a second soloist in the Lyric and Symphony Orchestra of Nancy.

Then, from 1988 to 1995, he is a second soloist in the Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra Chamber Music is also his passion so in 1989, he becomes first violin in the Quartet Florestan with whom he has been giving ever since several concerts around Europe.That very year, starts a close collaboration between the Quartet Florestan and the « Opéra National du Rhin de Strasbourg » which becomes the only chamber music group invited. They recently records a first disc the concentrates on Schubert, « La Jeune Fille et la Mort » and on Mendelssohn, sixth Quartet. The disc is warmly received by the critic. The Florestan Quartet regularly performs with artists such as F. Clidat, D. Lively...

In 1995, Philippe LINDECKER becomes after passing an examination, first one-man violinist in the Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra, job he's doing along with teaching violin and difficult pieces of work at the Strasbourg Conservatory. From that date onwards, he frequently performs in concertos with the latter.
