Professional biography of Patrice Laré
Patrice Laré

Born in Paris, Patrice Laré begins his piano studies with Igor Lavrov. At 17, he pursues his studies with Pierre Sancan at Paris CNSMD – Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse.

One year later, he is admitted at Moscow Tchaïkovski Conservatory where he studies during eight years in Youri Slessarev's class. In 1990, he obtains the High diploma Fine Master of Arts of Moscow Conservatory and two years later, the Artist Diploma. Through the education of his professors, Patrice Laré inherited the best tradition of the Piano Russian School represented by H. Neuhaus and S. Feinberg.

Having decided to discover new horizons, Patrice settled down in Quebec in 1993. He pursued his musical studies at the level of the doctorate at Montreal University in the class of Dr. Nathalie Pépin. In 1994, he won, playing the Tchaïkovski concerto, the First Competition with Orchestra of Montreal University. In 1998, he obtained his doctorate in interpretation supervised by Marc Durand.

Patrice Laré is regularly invited to perform as a soloist with orchestra and in recital and his performances are applauded by the public and the criticism.

He plays in numerous festivals such as the Trembling Mountain music Festival, the Niagara International Chamber music Festival, the summer Festival of the House Trestler, Weathersfield Music Festival (Vermont), Musical Weeks of Sofia, Varna Festival, Plovdiv and Stara Zagora Chamber music festivals, Björklunden on 2000 Music Series, International Bravissimo Festival in Guatemala City (Central America) ...in Russia, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Canada United States...

Fascinated by chamber music, Patrice Laré plays in duet with his wife, the cellist Velitchka Yotcheva and he also created the Montreal Rachmaninoff Trio. He made several tours in Europe and in the U.S.A with these groups.

In Canada, he performed in Montreal for the Pro Musica Society, as well as for the Montreal Chamber music Society and these concerts were recorded by Radio Canada.

Patrice Laré is also passionate by teaching. During his studies at Montreal University, he has been in charge of interpretation courses (1993-1998). He gave Master classes in Ontario at Brock University, at Lawrence University in Wisconsin, at Sofia National Bulgarian Conservatory and in Rimouski at Quebec Conservatory.

He is also teaching piano and chamber music in summer academies as the ISMA (Musical International School of Arts, the Niagara, Ontario), and the MIMC (Montreal International Music Camp).

In February, 2004 he made his first album with the Montreal Rachmaninoff Trio, under the label ATMA classique (Canada). Patrice Laré also recorded two other CDs with the cellist Velitchka Yotcheva, under label CD XXI-21 (Canada). His last recording, dedicated in F. Liszt went out in January, 2009.
