Laurence Ketels begins her musical studies at Roubaix Concervatoire where she obtains a Gold violin and chamber music Prize in 1982.

At the same time, she gratuated in Paris CNSM – Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in music theory with a First Prize.

Laurence Ketels carried on studying and obtained First advanced Violon Prize at Lille CNR - Conservatoire National de Région in 1983, a concert licence at Paris «Ecole Normale de Musique» in 1984 and First Prizes in violin (M. Jarry's class) and chamber music (R. Pasquier's class) in 1988-89 at Paris CNSM.

In 1990, she studied violin with Elisabeth Balmas in an advanced class at CNSM of Lyon.

From 1995 to 1996, Laurence Ketels is Solo Violin at Grenoble «Ensemble Instrumental» and in 1996 Solo Violonat Clermont-Ferrand «Orchestre d’Auvergne».

Since 2001, Laurence Ketels is Solo Violin Solo at Lyon National Opera Orchestra.

Member of Lyon String Sextuor (since 1991), the Guarnerius Trio (1986- 1989) and «Maestrio» with E.Sapey Triomph and B.Robillard, Laurence Ketels performed in France and abroad in International Festival such as Sarasora International Festival «La Musica» in Florida, in Germany, in Suede, at the Ollioule Festival, at the Lyon's Musicades with Alain Meunier, Bruno Giuranna, Joé Silverstein...

Laurence Ketels obtained her State Teaching Diploma in 1990.

She is teacher at Villeurbanne ENM - Ecole Nationale de Musique and Annick Roussin's personal assistant at Lyon CNSM - Conservatoire National Supérieur de musique.
