Ami Flammer
Ami Flammer has been solo violinist in the largest national and international chamber orchestras. He studied with Roland Charmy at Paris CNSMDP where his obtained th First Violin Price and then he pursued his studies with prestigious violinist as J. Gingold, H. Szering, C. Ferras before being admitted at Julliard School in I. Galamian class and in United Kingdom with N. Milstein. Member of the « Quatuor Prat », permanent invited soloist at Toulouse chamber orchestra, member of the French «Collectif 2E2M » and «Ensemble Itinéraire », Ammi Flammer win the Georges Enesco price in 1983 as the best Interpreter from Contemporary music from SACEM. Winner of the Maria Canals International Competition he has been performing for years in a duo with Jean-Claude Pennetier, with whom he has recorded contemporary works and composers. Ami Flammer plays as a soloist with numerous orchestras in Moscou, Paris, Nice.. and plays chamber music regularly on International stages. He created in France numerous contemporary pieces for solo violin as Caprices from Sciarrino, Freeman Etudes from John Cage… or the Georges Crumb string Quartett and Two 6 from John Cage, one of the last work from the composer dedicated for him. Ami Flammer is also a conductor ; he is conducting in France and abroad. In France he is the conductor of the Orchestra of Paris CNSMD Students and conducted oeuvres from Schœnberg, Bartok and Britten and also Mozart or Beethoven at Paris « Cité de la Musique » Hall with famous soloist Georges Pludermacher. He conducts numerous contemporary pieces from composers such as Gérard Grisey or Schoenberg « Pierrot lunaire ». Ami Flammer is also composer : he composed several scores for cinema (for adaptations of novels by Marguerite Duras and for productions by filmmaker Eric Rohmer) and for theater (Kafka at the Avignon Festival in 1993, with Michael Lonsdale). In 1988, he published a tome of considerable length on the violin, published by Lattès. He is a professor at the conservatory of Gennevilliers, and is currently a professor of chamber music at Paris National Conservatory for Advanced Music Studies (CNSMD). |
