Philippe Cuper
Born in LILLE, Philippe Cuper studies at PARIS
CNSM - Conservatoire National supérieur de Musique where he obtained the First
clarinett and chamber music Price. At the same time, he studied musicology at
Paris-Sorbonne University. He studied clarinett with great teachers such as
Gilbert Voisin, Guy Dangain, Guy Deplus and Henri Druart. Winner of Munich and Genève International
competitions, Philippe Cuper obtained the first Gold Price in Pragues
International Competition, the Slovak Price and the Saint-Pétersbourg Mravinsky
Medal. Than, he was nominated First Soloist in 1984 and
Super Soloist in 2002 in PARIS Naional Opera. He is invited to performe as a soloist with about
fifty orchestras such as the Berlin philharmonic under Claudio Abbado's
conducting in 2000 or Bavarian Radio Orchestra under Lorin Maazel's
conducting. He performed with every Paris Orchestras and
contemporay Ensembles with such conductors as P. Boulez, L.Berio or M.Constant.
Philippe Cuper also collaborated with great composers like J.Françaix, H.
Sauguet or O. Messiaen. Philippe Cuper created the Paris Wind Octuor in
1986. He is teacher at VERSAILLES CNR - Conservatoire
National de Région and he is regularly invited to give master classes in many
International Music Schools such as the Boston New England Conservatory, the
Kunitachi Academy in Tokyo or the London Guildhall School. He publishes written works on clarinett and a
discography for Paris Opera. He recorded many CD and have an important
discography with works of Stamitz, Pokomy, Mozart, Bréval, Weber, Copland,
Françaix, Nielsen, Artie Shaw (jazz), Mozart and Brahms quintett or Cahuzac
integral work. Philippe Cuper has been nominated at French «
Victoires de la Musique » for his collaboration in the music film of «
L'Accompagnatrice ». |
