Aida-Carmen Soana was born in Romania where she began her musical studies in Iasi and Bucarest from 1981 to 1986. In 1987, she went to Germany Lübeck Conservatory in Barbara Westphal class. From 1995 to 1999, she studied with Kim Kashkashian at Freiburg and Berlin Hoschschule where she obtained successfully her Diplomas. She was admitted in improvement cycle in 1999 at Paris CNSMD - Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse - in Gérard Caussé's class. At the same time, she obtained a grant from the German University Exchanges Office. Then, she has been selected to participate to master-classes with Yuri Bashmet, Wolfram Christ, Thomas Riebl, Caren Tuttle, Jersy Kosmala, etc…She has also been winner of several german foundations such as : « Marie Luise Imbusch Stiftung », « Jütting Stiftung » et « Förderkreis Jugend Musiziert », wich help her musical life from 1992 to 1997. Aida-Carmen Soanea won a impressing number of National and International Competitions such as : the First Prices of National German Competition «Jugend musiziert» and USA «Concerto Winners» from the Interlochen Music Festival in 1993, the Stennebrüggen Price from Carl Flesch Académie (Baden-Baden) and the Eduart Sörening Price from the « Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben » foundation (Hambourg) in 1995 . In 2000 she won the second Price at «Yuri Bashmet» (Moscou) International Competition and she has been finalist at ARD Munich Competition. Then, on 2005, she won the First Price at Valentino Bucchi International Competition (Roma – Italia ). Since 1997, Aida-Carmen Soanea is a member of the German University Foundation. The Italian Maestro Claudio Abbado asked her to play solo viola in «Gustave Mahler» Young orchestra under Pierre Boulez, Bernard Haitink, Seiji Osawa …direction. Then, Aida-Carmen Soanea performs all over the world ; United States and South America with «Gustave Mahler» Young orchestra and Berliner Symphoniker, and also with such orchestras as the « Philharmonie Antwerpen »…and French orchestras such as the Toulouse « Orchestre du Capitole », the Auvergne Orchestra or the Basse Normandie Ensemble...in prestigious festivals and concert halls in Europe ; Saint-Riquier Festival, Cité de la Musique and Orsay Museum Festival in France, « Internationale Osterfestpiele Luzern » in Switzerlan, « Rheingau Musikfestival » and « Musikfestspiele Sanssouci » in Germany, « Oxford Chamber Music Festival » in United Kingdom... Since 2003, she is viola soloist at Budapest Festival Orchestra (dir. Ivan Fisher). Aida-Carmen Soanea is regularly performing in chamber music concerts at German Berliner Festwochen where she plays with Natalia Gutman, Kolja Blacher, Rainer Kussmaul and Wolfram Christ. She also plays chamber music with such musicians as Tabea Zimmerman, Jean-Guilhem Queyras, Renaud Capuçon, Alexander Melnikov…She is founder member of the Delian string quartett wich recording will be distributed by Oehms Classics in 2008. Aida-Carmen Soanea is playing contemporary music and takes regularly part in contemporary creation and recording in Germany and Romania. Aida-Carmen Soanea is also passionate by teaching and gives master classes in France and Europe. |
