Blacher
Born in Paris in 1954, Philippe Blacher begins to play piano at the age of six years old with his mother, student of Alfred Cortot, and with Aldo Ciccolini. He improves his studies with Germaine Mounier at Paris « Ecole Normale ». In 1975, Germaine Mounier proposes him to teach at Paris «Ecole Normale » but his is appointed at the same time at Toulouse National Conservatory - CRR. Winner of several International Competition (Vercelli…), Philippe Blacher often records for French radio and plays in France and abroad (Germany, Poland, Switzerland, Italy, Spain...), as a soloist, in duo with his wife and pianist Catherine Blacher and with his son Hugo Blacher, solo trumpet at the Toulouse National Capitole Orchestra, and also with several other ensembles. Philippe Blacher is professor at Toulouse National Conservatory – CRR and also at Toulouse CESMD. He is regularly invited as a jury member of International Competitions and conservatories examinations. Philippe Blacher is very close to Aldo Ciccolini fromwho he is being one of his older student. Their way of teaching are very similar. |
