Sylvie Perret
Born in 1963 in a musician family and attracted by
the harp, Sylvie Perret began her studies in Bordeaux at 8 years old. In 1979, she entered at the Paris CNSMD -
Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique - in Jacqueline Borot's class where
she obtained a brilliant First Prize. In 1984, she became soloist in Paris Opera
Orchestra. At the same time, she perfected her harp
knowledge, notably in chamber music, looking for unusual and varied pieces as
trio for such instrument as oboe, horn and harp, or sonatas for harp and
clarinet or oboe or bassoon. Award winner for the First Young Talents
Competition organized by the Lion's Club, she is awarded for the Geneva
International Competition in 1986 where she wins a third Prize. She regularly performs in France and abroad (Paris
Estival Festival, Congrès de Graz, Maurice Ravel Academy, Nuremberg European
Harp Symposium, Salle Gaveau, Paris Garnier Opéra and summer festivals. She plays her predilection repertory with various
instrumental ensembles : composers such as Ravel, Debussy, Caplet, Tomasi,
Cras, or Jean Françaix. She also spend a part of her time teaching,
notably during summer academies. Recently she organized thematic master classes on
Marcel Tournier. She also gives master classes in Mont-Dore (Auvergne -
France). Sylvie Perret recorded many CD. Among others, she
recorded Mozart concerto for flute and harp with Catherine Cantin and the Paris
Opera Orchestra under G. Prêtre direction as well as sonatas for clarinet and
harp with M. Gabai. She is actually working on a CD for harp and oboe
duets with her husband François-Xavier Bourin. |
