Emmanuel Mercier

Emmanuel Mercier enters at 14 at the Paris CNSMD - Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse - and obtains four firt prizes: piano, chambermusic, harmony and counterpoint.

After several improvement courses with Evegeny Malinin and a year in Banff (Canada) under professors direction such as Gyorgy Sebök, Menahem Pressler etc..., he is award winner of severals prizes during International Contests.

He performed with orchestras (the Toulouse Capitole National Orchestra directed by Michel Plasson, Paris Orchestral Ensemble directed by Jean-Jacques Kantorow, in Canada under the direction of Luciano Berio).

Concerned by enlarging his repertory, and curious about the most various esthetics, he loves to help others to discover unknown works, and likes to explore the contemporary repertory as well.

Nominated as professor assistant at the Paris CNSMD in 1987, he worked with Gabriel Tacchino, Alain Planés and Brigitte Engerer.

He currently teaches at the Paris CRR - Conservatoire à rayonnement régional - since 1993.
