Mayet
Florent Mayet starts his musical studies at six years old by learning music theory and piano. In 1992, he enters in the “Maîtrise de la Loire” where he studies singing choir, piano accompaniment, writing and choir conducting under the acques Berthelon direction. Then, Florent Mayet enters at Villeurbanne CRD - Conservatoire à Rayonnement Départemantal - where he studies choir conducting, analysis, writing and harpsichord. At the same time, he studies violata gamba at Saint Etienne CRR - Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional. In 2000, he is admitted at Chalon sur Saône CRR, in Philippe Cambreling's class and in 2003, he enters at Paris CNSMD - Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse - in gregorian choir conducting where he obtains succesfully a First Price in 2005. He decides to continue studying conducting in Prague (Czech republic) at the Fine Arts Academy. There he studies symphonic Czech repertoire (Dvořák, Janáček, Smetana) with the Maestro Tomáš Koutník, and participates at numerous master classes with such great orchestra leaders as Nicolas Pasquet, Ronald Zolmann, Jiří Bělohlávek… Florent Mayet has been Jacques Berthelon's assistant at the French Villefranche sur Saône “Chœur des Marais” and also at the Lyon Schola Witkowski. He was also Franck Emmanuel Comte assistant with the famous Lyon ensemble “ Concert de l’Hostel dieu”. He teached at the “Maîtrise de la Loire” and at Lyon CRR. Now artistic Director of the Saint-Etienne Symphonic Orchestra, Florent Mayet is Professor at the Lyon Voice Center and at the Arles CRR. |
