At the age of 4, Geneviève Létang decides to play the harp. This vocation takes little by little a determining place in her life and her training leads her to study in Strasbourg Conservatory CRR – Conservatoire à rayonnement régional - and then in Paris CNSMDP - Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse. There she obtained the First prize et decided to pursue by improving with Germaine Lorenzini. Geneviève Létang is a fascinated orchestra musician. Very attracted by the repertoryies of orchestra and opera, she collaborates with Bordeaux-Aquitaine orchestra Lausanne chamber orchestra and Radio France Philarmonique Orchestra. She plays under the conducting of such conductors as Armin Jordan, Péter Eötvös, Myung-Whun Chung, Alain Lombard, Ton Koopman… and with such musician as Dame Felicity Lott, Iris Vermillon, Ute Lemper.. : such prestigious rencontres wich unlarge her musical univers. Geneviève Létang performs all over the world : in Brazil at Festival Internacional de Inverno de Campos doh Jordao, at Eskisehir (Turkey), New York, Buffalo, Huston, at Zurich Tonhalle, Festival of Huddersfield (United Kingdom) as well as in France in Paris, Besançon, Compiègne Impérial Theater, Royaumont (residence and concerts), Strasbourg... Strongly involved in the contemporary creation, Geneviève Létang participates in the creation of works of Heinz Hollinger, Frédéric Durieux, Philippe Leroux, Mario Stroppa, Gilbert Amy, Péter Eötvös, Brian Ferneyhough (creation of Stopwatches Aion (recorded with Linéa) and she joins the group Linéa managed by Jean-Philippe Wurtz in 2007 and with which she created in particular « frontal for 2 harps » from Frédéric Durieux/Motsch/Cheung's. Holder of the Teaching Diploma of professor of harp, Geneviève Létang is professor at Paris CNSMDP - Conservatoire National Supérieur de musique et de Danse - where she teaches more particularly contemporary music, the repertory of orchestra and pedagogy.
