Professional biography of Hervé Esquis
Hervé Esquis

Hervé Esquis began accordion with Professor Guy Brunon before entering in Lyon's CNR - Conservatoire National de Région, in Patricia Hivert's class where he obtained successively two golden medals in accordion and chamber music in 1994 and a First Price Unanimously with congratulations in 1995.

He continues his musical studies in Paris CNR - Conservatoire National de Région, in Max Bonnay's class and obtain a First Price in 1998.

Then, he has the chance to improve with such great tango artists as Juan Cedron, Gustavo Baytelmann, Daniel Brel or William Sabatier.

Accordion and bandoneon player, Hervé Esquis is nowdays recognized as a tango specialist and also plays classical repertory and contemporary music.

As a member of Otoño Porteño QuartetHervé Hervé Esquis plays traditional tango, but also concert tango and tango nuevo with this ensemble.

He also performs as a soloist with such wellknown formation as the Lyon Opera orchestra, the « Orchestre d'Auvergne » or the Akroma Trio and with such tango artists as Juan Cedron..

Hervé Esquis is also a composer and writes essentialy tango music for such ensemble as Tango Otoño Porteño Quartet » or Trazz and compose quite regularly for theatre.

He recorded some CD with the Tango Otoño Porteño Quartet and participate in french radio and TV musical programm.

Hervé Esquis is conductor of the Puy-en-Velay tango orchestra and teaches bandoneon and tango in Lyon « CRR - Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Lyon ».

He is also accordion and bandoneon Professor at le Puy-en-Velay « CRD - Conservatoire à rayonnement départemental ».
