Isabelle Eschenbrenner

Holder of a Musicology Diploma, Isabelle Eschenbrenner obtains a First Virtuosity Prize with jury's congratulation in J.Bise's class at the Lausanne Conservatory.

Then she entered in the Lyon Opera Atelier d’interprétation Vocale et Dramatique (conducted by E. Tappy).

She became member of the Lyon Opera Troop where she sings under J. E. Gardiner, M. Arena, K. Nagano, P. Eötvös, B. Campanella conducting with such directors as B. Wilson, M. Leiser, P. Caurier, F. Dunlop.

She sang in Maurice Ravel l'Enfant et les Sortilèges in a international tour and for a film production which was prized by a gold FIPA in Cannes (France - 1994).

Her repertoire is wide ; she sang for several concerts under the conducting of great musicians such as P. Bender (D.Chostakovitch 14th Symphony), B. Conti ( F. Poulenc Stabat Mater), M. Foster ( K. Orff Carmina Burana), J.E. Gardiner (Glkuck Iphigénie en Aulide), T. Guschlbauer ( H. Villa – Lobos Bachianas Brasileiras), J. Mercier et G. Ferro ( M. Ravel l’enfant et les Sortilèges) and B. Tétu ( Dvorak Stabat Mater).

She regularly sings sacred music from Mozart (Requiem, Messes…), Haendel (Messie), Haydn (La Création), and Bach (cantates, St Jean Passion).

She also sings mélodie and Lied repertoire.

Isabelle Eschenbrenner has played several contemporary music pieces from J.Harvey, R. Pascal, A. Webern.

Beside her soloist career, Isabelle Eschenbrenner is fascinated by teaching and she is professor at the Lyon Opera Maîtrise, and she is also assistant Professor at Lyon CNSMD - Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse.

Isabelle Eschenbrenner is the founder and director of Lyon Centre de la Voix Rhône Alpes where she also teaches singing.
