Francis Duroy was born in Paris where his musical training started at eight, at Saint Maur CRR - Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional - where he gratuated in piano, violin, horn, chamber music and harmony. He completed his violinistic studies in Brussels ( Belgium) with Maurice Raskin, in Lyon CNSMD - Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique - with Véda Reynolds.

In 1985, he obtained a scholarship to study at the Banff Centre School of Fine Arts (Canada).

He is better oneself with such renowned masters as the violinist Zoltan Szekely, the violist Rafaël Hillyer, the cellist Anner Bylsma or the pianist Menahem Pressler.

In 1986, he was appointed Soloist of the Lyon National Opera Orchestra with the conductor John Eliot Gardiner and Kent Nagano. Since 1989 as 1191, he is nominated Solo Violin of the Lyon National Orchestra (1989 to 1991) with the conductor Emmanuel Krivine.

Since 1992, Francis Duroy carries a concertist carreer which leads him whole World wide.

He is a regularly invited to perform in chamber music in various Festivals and prestigious halls all over the world ; in Korea at Poyang city, in Japan at Kioi Hall in Tokyo, Shirakawa Hall in Nagoya, NHK Hall in Osaka, Kyoto Center Hall in Kyoto, in United States San Antonio (Texas) « Musical Bridges around the World », in Boston « Black man Hall », in Italy in Brescia for « Serate Musicali » Festival, in Napoli for « Musica in Irpinia » Festival, in Catania, in Taranto..., in Norway at “Grieg im Bergen” Festival, in Slovenia at Ljubljana's Festival, and in France in main french festivals and concerts halls such as “Théâtre des Champs Elysées”, the “Salle Gaveau”, « Promenades musicales de la Côte d’Azur », Paris Chamber Music Festival, Tournon Festival, Musicalta Festival, Montpellier Festival... with such musicians as Maurice André, Lyda Chen-Argerich, Patrice Fontanarosa, Vladimir Sverdlov, Roland Pidoux, Michel Bourdoncle, Philippe Bernold, Dominique Vidal, Dimitri Teterin, Kyril Rodin…

Francis Duroy plays as soloist all over the wold with such orchestras as the Philharmonic Orchestra from Dniepopetrov (Ukrainia), the City of Pohang Symphonic Orchestra (Korea), the Kiev Philharmonic Orchestra, Italian Orchestra ICO della Magna Grecia, the Lyon “Orchestre de l’Opéra National”, the Lyon National Orchestra, the Grenoble Instrumental Ensemble, the “Camerata de France”, the “Archets de Paris”, the Bernard Thomas Chamber Orchestra... He is also appointed solo violin conductor of chamber orchestras such as « Camerata de France » from 1990 to 1993 and “Les Archets de Paris” from 1993 to 1995.

Since then, he has successfully been able to develop his career as a Concertist, and in teaching. Francis Duroy is violin Professor at the Lyon CRR - Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional. He is regularly invited for teaching Master classes in Japan, USA and Korea and he is also member of jury in International competitions.

Since 1993, Francis Duroy has been the founding artistic director of Musicalta.
