Jean-Pierre Dupuy
Jean-Pierre Dupuy followed traditional musical
studies in Paris with Magda Tagliaferro. Then, he carried on with two careers ; pianist and
conductor and he choose very early to dedicate himself in contemporary
music. His performances are very original, being the
witness always in evolution of contemporary creation. Today, musical critics
consider Jean-Pierre Dupuy as an indispensable interpreter of contemporary
piano. Jean Pierre Dupuy was the founder and director of
the Solars Vortices Ensemble and played more than 400 word creation with this
Ensemble. He also created many pieces written by such
composers as Tomás Marco (Autodafé ; Jean-Pierre Dupuy obtained the First Prize
from UNESCO in 1976 with this oeuvre), Luis de Pablo, John Cage, Giacinto
Scelsi, Francisco Guerrero, Josep María Mestres Quadreny, Joan Guinjoan, Henri
Cowell, Bruno Maderna, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Morton Feldman.. His career as a pianist soloist drive him on
international renown stages where he played under the conducting of prestigious
artists such as Bruno Maderna, José Ramón Encinar, Gilbert Amy, Odon Alonso,
Daniel Tosi, Pierre Colombo, Gianandrea Noseda, Juan Pablo Izquierdo,Antoni Ros
Marbà…. As a renown teacher, Jean-Pierre Dupuy teaches
classical and contemporary music. He is also directing the « Permanent
Interpretation Workshop » at Música Studio. Jean-Pierre Dupuy gives master class in Spain and
USA where he is now also registering pieces from American composers for the «
CRI » company. His discography is very important with such
reference as the complete work of John Cage « Sonatas and Interludes for
prepared piano" published by Milano Dischi « Stradivarius" collection. |
