Cristina Bellu studies cello in Italy in Florence and perfects her studies in United States at Chicago Roosevelt University where she won a Master Degree. She began a career very young by playing in prestigious orchestras such as Chicago Civic Orchestra, Chicago chamber Orchestra, Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina, Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Mulhouse Symphonic Orchestra… In 1992, she has been appointed Soloist cello at Livourne Philharmonic Orchestra (IT) where he stay until 2001. At the same time she pursues an important chamber musician activity. Cristina Bellu is regularly invited to play as a soloist in France and abroad with such wellknown musicians as Thierry Mechler, Claude Lang, the Wallach Quartett... She collaborates with composers and she interpreted the Gulda concerto for cello and band. Cristina Bellu is the Vice President of ESTA - European String Teachers Association in France and also ambassador of ESTA International at the European Council. Passionate of pedagogy, she translated the book of Phyllis Young Playing the string game in French and in Italian. She teaches cello at Mulhouse CRD - Conservatoire à Rayonnement Départemental, and she is also teacher of cello pedagogy at the Swiis Italian Conservatory - Lugano Scuola Universitaria di Musica (CH). |
