Dominique Burnier studied at the Geneva International Music Conservatory in C. Romano's viola class where he obtained the viola, violin, chamber Music and harmony Professional Diplomas succesfully.

Regularly invited by wellknown festivals in France and abroad to play as a soloist, Dominique Burnier is also one of the members of the Arcana Quintet and of the Besançon Cords Trio

Dominique Burnier was successively nominated violist in the Lausanne Orchestra and Solo Viola of the Bienne Orchestra (Swiss).

He is now Solo Viola of the Besançon Chamber Music Orchestra (France).

He is occupant of the professor C.A. (Certificat d'Aptitude) since 1978.

From 1978 to 2006 he was viola and music chamber professor at the Besançon CRR (Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional).
