Berthelon
Jacques Berthelon graduated physiology and devoted to research and teaching cellular physiology for 9 years. At the same time he studied singing and choir conducting with G. Diot and D. Merle. Than he became member of the Lyon National Choir Orchestra (conducted by Bernard Tétu) and of the Lyon New vocal Ensemble (conducted by Henri Farge). He is now singing in the French vocal Ensemble « Les Voix Six ». In 1980, he has been accepted at the Lyon CNSMD - Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse - in the choir conducting class of Professeur Bernard Têtu. Than, Jacques Berthelon leaves his post at the french State Education in physiology and creates the « Rhône-Alpes » Regional Polyphonic Center in 1984 where he becomes director from 1984 to 1988. In 1992, on the demand of the Loire Department, he creates the departmental Choir School « Maîtrise de la Loire » which brings choir singing practise in schools. Being the « Maîtrise de la Loire» artistic and pedagogical director, Jacques Berthelon will devote himself to bring the choir at the highest musical level. The « Maîtrise de la Loire » has collaborated with such prestigious musical partners as Lyon National Orchestra, Toulouse National Orchestra, Saint-Etienne Esplanade Opera, Toulon Opera, Radio France, « Orchestre des Pays de Savoie », Auvergne Orchestra, Debussy String Quartett, Loire Musical summer in Rhône-Alpes, Chaise Dieu Festival, Ambronnay Festival... Jacques Berthelon is also the Lyon Schola Witkowski's Director and the Villefranche Marais choir's Director. He is invited to conduct any repertoire in many concerts in France and abroad. Jacques Berthelon is partial to conduct particularly baroc music and XXth french music. |
